This course is designed for all teachers to understand the importance of an effective rubric and guides teachers through the process of creating a rubric that meets all cognitive levels and assesses the learners’ true ability.
A rubric can be one of the most powerful assessment tools to assess a learner’s true ability, provided it is constructed properly. Rubrics take time and effort to develop, however, once they are developed correctly, they can be used in a multitude of ways.
This course takes you through a step-by-step process of developing a well-constructed and purposeful rubric. It also provides the reasons for including or not including certain steps and processes.
This course can be used and adapted for any grade and any subject as all the basic principles of developing a rubric are the same.
